The ICM-2111 provides electrical conversions from RS-232 to MIL-STD-188C or MIL-STD-188-114A unbalanced and vice versa.The unit does not require a power supply because it is powered through the DB-25 connector from the data line.

For compatibility with MIL-STD-188C and MIL-STD-188-114A unbalanced, the transmit and receive data (TD and RD) can be inverted through the unit by a toggle switch. The unit is transparent to all handshaking protocols and can accept data, clock, and control signals up to a maximum rate of 1 Mbps. FiberPlex recommends “R” units for high security applications because the units have added shielding and filtering to suppress their RFI.
